Flashback Friday to Fairytale Festivities

I know that I am super behind at posting about the end of the year fairytale party, but it has been one of those days where I was reminded of how much I have loved being with these 2nd grade kiddos!!! On May 14, I went back to Room 302 to facepaint these adorable faces. Obviously fairytales have interesting characters: butterflies, Spider-Man, military boys, cheetahs, Iron Man, girl pirate, and different color camo dudes! 

LRRH Story Walk/My Last Day of Internship

Today was such a bittersweet day! So many fun activities with a great group of kiddos. After lunch, we were able to have a story walk around the school to the story "Honestly, Red Riding Hood Was Rotten!" I read the story while students answered a response question and figured out a riddle to go to the next station. Then, we came back to the classroom for gift time and many hugs!

(I am so thankful for this special lady. I have grown so much during this internship and couldn't have gotten through without her support!)

(My kiddos and parents are the best! I got so many special gifts and cards...there are some not even pictured! Thank you all!!!)

(This was the most intense, amazing hug ever! All of the students wanted to take me home with them and/or wanted me to take them to my house)

Sheep in a Jeep

Today, Mrs. Hughes was able to use an activity that I learned in one of my college courses to teach these awesome 2nd graders about Forces and Motion. Sheep in a Jeep is a great rhyming book that has a very interactive student-centered lab. 

    

Another movie day with Aladdin

Room 302 started watching the movie Aladdin today due to their awesome class behavior. Aladdin is based on the Arab folktale of Aladdin and the Magic Lamp from One Thousand and One Nights. Aladdin also goes perfectly with our discussion about needs and wants. 

Staff & Student Shout Outs

The Anti-Bully Club posted sweet sticky notes today on the Staff & Student Shout Outs board. Our class was able to join in on spreading a little kindness as well during their morning work time.
